Aleksander Zaklan ist seit März 2024 Professor für Volkswirtschaftslehre an der Universität Rostock und Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Angewandte Wirtschaftsforschung. Zuvor war er u.a. Senior Researcher am Deutschen Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung (DIW Berlin), Research Associate an der Berlin School of Economics und Jean Monnet Fellow am European University Institute in Florenz. Seit 2018 ist Prof. Dr. Zaklan Fellow und seit 2026 Senior Fellow am Berlin Center for Consumer Policies.
Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Angewandte Mikroökonomik, Umweltökonomik und Außenhandel. Prof. Dr. Zaklan publiziert in hochrangigen Journals, u.a. American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management und Review of Environmental Economics and Policy.
